Can I collect in store?

Yes, absolutely, our London store is open from 9.30am -4.30pm Monday to Friday for you to collect your online order.

I would like to purchase from a country outside of the UK

If you would like to make an order from anywhere outside of the UK, we can process this either via phone (+44 207 404 3334) or email (instruments@gem-a.com). Just let us know what you would like and we’ll be happy to help

What are your opening hours in store?

12th April 2021: Gem-A Instruments is open to on-site students and pre-booked shop appointments. We will also welcome customers who have pre-ordered online and are collecting their items on their specified day. We look forward to opening our doors to all visitors in the near future.

How do I get to Gem-A Instruments London?

Our London store is located on a quiet little street next to the city's jewellery quarter at 21 Ely Place, London, EC1N 6TD. Our nearest tube stations are Chancery Lane (Central line) and Farringdon (Hammersmith & City, Circle, Metropolitan Line, Thameslink Railway)

Returns & Refunds

My product was faulty when I received it

If you have received faulty goods please notify us, for example by email, and return them to us with proof of purchase within 30 days to receive a full refund. We may ask you to pay to return the goods, but you will be refunded in full for the postage of any goods found to be faulty. If you are outside the 30-day 'right to reject', we will repair or replace any goods which are of unsatisfactory quality, unfit for purpose, or not as described. You can return any unwanted items within 14 days of receiving it by shipping it to our London store (Gem-A Instruments, 21 Ely Place, London, EC1N 6TD). Please notify us of your wish to return and, upon receipt of your returned items, we will issue a refund to the original account used. What discount do I get as a member?

As a member or student member you will receive 10% discount on instruments and a 5% discount on books at Gem-A Instruments. To receive your discount, log on here using your Gem-A Membership log on details: Login to access your discounted rates

How do I log in as a member?

You can access your discounted rates by logging as a current Gem-A Member or student, using the details provided to you when you registered for education or membership (check your welcome email from Gem-A) and simply navigate to https://shop.gem-a.com/customer/account/login. If you are already logged in to www.gem-a.com within the same browser, shop.gem-a.com will recognise this and automatically apply your membership discount.

Do you provide certification on gemstones and diamonds?

We no longer have a commercial laboratory at Gem-A so, unfortunately, we do not provide a certification service. Many gemmologists in gem testing laboratories are graduates of Gem-A and hold their FGA and DGA. Do you repair instruments?

Dependant on the problem, we may be able to repair instruments. You can make repair enquiries through instruments@gem-a.com, where we will do our best to assess, advise, and quote you for any possible repairs.
