Can I collect in store?

Yes absolutely, our London store is open from 9.30am -4.30pm Monday to Friday. We can occasionally offer a Click and Collect service from our Hong Kong and Tokyo offices upon request.

I would like to purchase from a country outside of the UK

If you would like to make an order from anywhere outside of the UK, we can process this either via phone (+44 207 404 3334) or email (instruments@gem-a.com). Just let us know what you would like and we’ll be happy to help

What are your opening hours in store?

Our London store is usually open from 9.30am -4.30pm Monday to Friday. If you are making a special trip please call ahead to confirm that we are open +44 207 404 3334.

How do I get to Gem-A Instruments London?

Our London store is located on a quiet street next to the city's jewellery quarter at 21 Ely Place, London, EC1N 6TD. Our nearest underground stations are Chancery Lane (Central line) and Farringdon (Hammersmith & City, Circle, Metropolitan Line, Thameslink Railway)

Returns & Refunds

My product was faulty when I received it

If you have received faulty goods, please notify us by email or telephone. If you would like to receive a full refund, return the goods to us with proof of purchase within 30 days of receiving the faulty item. We may ask you to pay to return the goods, but you will be refunded in full for the postage of any goods found to be faulty. If you are outside of the 30-day right to reject, we will repair or replace any goods which are of unsatisfactory quality, unfit for purpose or not as described. You can return any unwanted items within 14 days of receiving it by shipping it to our London store (Gem-A Instruments, 21 Ely Place, London, EC1N 6TD). Please notify us of your wish to return, and upon receipt of your returned items, we will issue a refund to the original account used. Membership & Discounts

What discount do I get as a member?

As a member or student member you will receive 10% discount on instruments and 5% discount on books at Gem-A Instruments.

How do I log in as a member?

You need to have an account on the website. If you don't have such you can register in a minute and obtain access. Please note that you will have to apply your membership or student ID on the Registration Form in order to obtain 10% discount on all instruments and 5% discount on all books for every order placed from your account. Please note that we will need up to 24 hours to verify your member/student account and activate the discount.

How do I become a member of Gem-A?

Anyone can become an Associate Member of Gem-A. Applications can be made via the Gem-A website by completing the application form. This form can either be scanned and emailed to membership@gem-a.com or sent in the post to Membership, Gem-A, 21 Ely Place, London, EC1N 6TD. You'll receive lots of benefits, which you can discover here

Do you provide certification on gemstones and diamonds?

No. Gem-A do not have a commercial laboratory. Many gemmologists in gem testing laboratories are graduates of Gem-A and hold FGA or DGA Membership. If you are interested in becoming a qualified gemmologist, take a look at the range of short and long courses available with Gem-A. CLICK HERE

Do you repair instruments?

Depending on the problem, we may be able to repair instruments. You can make repair enquiries via instruments@gem-a.com, where we will do our best to assess, advise and quote for your repair.
