The Chatham Legacy’ book chronicles the work that was needed to first grow emerald in the Lab. No one had successfully done so on a commercial basis before Carroll Chatham. The jewelry trade was not overly receptive to this concept and Carroll Chatham had to legally fight for his right to market his gems as emerald. The book represents one of the rare firsthand accounts of the manufacturing and marketing of laboratory grown gemstones.
