The Presidium SDS II tests mounted and un-mounted diamonds as small as 0.02 carats with instant results. Using UV absorption this instrument detects Type IIa colourless diamonds and indicates that they require further testing. An essential screening instrument as many Type IIa diamonds on the market are produced by HPHT or CVD synthesis.
